The theme for March is “Upgrade!”

Managing the intensity of the times can be challenging if you resist what wants to change and dig your heels in around your attachments. This month will require flexibility, acceptance, neutrality and enthusiasm around what is possible rather than despair in difficult situations. This is a month to embrace the energy of fire and learn to use it wisely. The element and ally of fire can help to ignite passion for what we love, and provide impetus to get off our bums and move forward with courage towards our authentic purpose.

The “upgrade” theme of the month will express itself in many different ways. The most important is the upgrade of your thoughts, emotions and beliefs. This may require further release and completions of old patterns, cycles and behaviors. If you are not proactive in doing so, spirit will do it for you by bringing in something unexpected that forces you to make a necessary change.

In order to upgrade anything you must first release that which you are upgrading. So if it is a piece of furniture or an appliance, you move the old energy out of your life first to make room for the upgrade. The same is true for your inner upgrades of thoughts, emotions, attitudes, issues around self-esteem, personal power and confidence. The 7 obstacles come into play here; Stubbornness, Impatience, Martyrdom, Self-Deprecation, Arrogance, Greed and Self Destruction. These are patterns that keep you from being fully present, enjoying life, and able to elevate yourself to the next level, the next octave of vibration. If you can eliminate these patterns (at least most of the time) out of your life, you can eliminate what stands in the way of a personal upgrade. So, beware when these patterns come up for you, and work on eliminating them to make room for a more authentic way of being. The fire energy of the year motivates change. It motivates us to clean out old emotional debris, stagnant energies and move into a new landscape in our lives. The process can be easy or difficult depending on how much resistance you have around change. You can only upgrade if you unstick yourself from where you are stuck. Sometimes it helps to start with something simple in your environment to represent an upgrade. If you have something old and tired in your personal environment, make a conscious choice to upgrade it as a way to start moving the energy. It could be something small to start with like bath towels or kitchen sponges. The conscious choice of the upgrade will designate it as the energy you want to be working with proactively this month.

Negative reactions to the pushy fire energy this month can include anger, irritation, dramatic emotions, explosive responses, overwhelm, and a desire to just crawl into a cave and hide until it’s over. The discipline is to acknowledge that something needs an upgrade and that you have the courage and impetus to handle it. If the upgrade chooses you by sweeping in and giving you an unexpected whack through an accident or other radical change, take it as a sign to work with the energy instead of resisting it. Flexibility is the key!

There are some very positive influences this month as well that can greatly support the upgrade theme. We are encouraged to open the heart, develop and trust our intuition, nurture our creativity, acknowledge our passion for what we love to do, and focus on our authentic desires, goals and intentions. How can you upgrade yourself in all these areas? A good foundation of spiritual practice will help enormously and being grounded, working with the earth as well as the element of water will bring much needed balance.

How the month shows up:

YOU PERSONALLY

Since we are in a Mercury retrograde cycle until later in the month, there is helpful support for slowing down and going within to discover for yourself what needs to be upgraded in your mental, emotional and physical life. This is a month of self-reflection and you need to be proactive as much as you can with what changes need to happen in order to make room for a new cycle of higher vibration. If this is overwhelming for you, start with something small. Take an attitude or habit that is troublesome to you and create a conscious and organized structure for tackling its upgrade daily. Sometimes just the regular and practical awareness is enough to begin the change.

The fire horse energy of the year is alive and well and will tend to accelerate any process you put your mind to. It will accelerate a positive focus as well as a negative one. So be careful where you put your energy. Committing to upgrades in your person will result in a very positive and uplifted sense of self, more vitality, enthusiasm, and creative ideas. You will need to be accepting and flexible when things don’t go as planned or external events throw a monkey wrench into your schedule. See everything as a perfect orchestration of what needs to happen, an attitude that will keep the energy flowing in the right direction instead of going into despair and discouragement as that will only block progress.

RELATIONSHIPS

A good month to rely on the relationships that truly support you and want the best for you instead of the ones that are attached to an old identity you are attempting to upgrade. There is a need during this time of inner reflection to “stay in your own lane”, set good boundaries, and resist the energy leak of being overly affected by external dramatic events. This month is primarily about your relationship with yourself, your purpose, your passion and what you are needing to upgrade in order to change your story.

An open heart also opens possibilities of new relationships entering into your life and the energy of fire can bring them in faster than the mind can process. Follow your intuition around what feels right rather than what you think you ought to do. This goes for relationships that need to be pruned as well. It is a good month to reevaluate all of your relationships, where you can upgrade, which ones are energy leaks, where you need to put up good boundaries, what you need to nurture and where you need to simply release and let go.

HEALTH AND THE PHYSICAL BODY

Your physical body and general wellness are your container for this life. There is always something that you can upgrade in your self-care, habits and practices. This is a challenging month for the body with a focus on bones, teeth and joints, as old ancestral patterns as well as stuck and stagnant energy tend to reside in all of the above. It will be very important to lubricate and loosen the joints as well as to pay attention to what may occur with your bones and teeth. If you truly need to break a pattern that you cannot do any other way, spirit may decide that breaking a bone or losing a tooth is the most efficient road to that process.

This is also a month where purification of the mind and thoughts is on the menu. The more you can eliminate negative thinking and attachment to a story, the more opportunity for a physical, emotional and mental upgrade is possible. Work with “what if” questions that are positive and pay attention to the “what if” obsessions that are fear based and negative.

There is great support for moving beyond the limitation of old belief systems, however this will require flexibility, compassion, and a willingness to look at and accept what spirit is handing you for your own growth and evolution.

BUSINESS PARTNERSHIPS AND PROJECTS

A volatile time for this area but at the same time great clarity, abundance and prosperity are possible. The key is to be doing what you love and not putting up with burdens and responsibilities you don’t feel good about. Sometimes a responsibility is just what it is and you can accomplish with neutrality what you agreed to do. However, sometimes a responsibility is past its agreement and turns into a burden that is no longer aligned with your deepest desires and true authentic purpose. It can take tough love to say no to something that has become an energy leak, but not doing so will never take you anywhere positive.

It is a good month to pay close attention to which partnerships, projects and business endeavors are gaining support and being empowered and which ones are dead in the water. Look at where you can upgrade, where you can put your energy, what excites you, what you are inspired by, where you can change it up, or if not worth it, to simply cut it loose with ease and grace.

ENVIRONMENT

The full moon and total eclipse at the beginning of the month brings an energy that can truly shake things up. We may be in for some external earth activity and certainly we are in for some internal earthquakes and volcanic-type reactions to what may be coming into our lives as we navigate this time of transformation. Be flexible and stay out of fear. This is the best advice. The fire and air elements of the year are alive and well and definitely stimulating some environmental drama. Acknowledge the fact that the environment is supporting evolution and what people need at this time instead of being in resistance to the discomfort that certain events can produce.

Your personal environment is focused this month on your inner environment; your body, health, emotional and mental well-being. This inner environment reflects the outer, so whatever work you do on the inner will affect the outer and whatever work you do on the outer will affect the inner. It always feels good to clean, upgrade and raise the level of quality for yourself and your environment.

Watch for lots of turbulence, unpredictable “weather”, irrational and stormy reactions, and always strive for balance from a place of acceptance and neutrality. Working with water and earth will be helpful to balance the fire and air.

DATES AND TIME FRAMES

March 1-7

-The big event this week is the Full Moon with a total lunar eclipse in Virgo on Tuesday, March 3. This event is one of the most powerful triggers and brings great awareness to aspects of our lives that need attention. It is a time of shaking, rattling and awakening. We may see this very physically in Earth activity and we will certainly experience it internally as we gain clarity on what needs doing, fixing, re-balancing, upgrading or releasing. We have been working with variations of the theme of completion for some time now and we can finally begin to feel there is truly a light at the end of the tunnel of transformation. It will still take presence, commitment and focus to get there and there may not be full clarity on the bigger picture for a while longer.

Take this week to go inward, accept what spirit is pushing you towards, and focus on grounding some good practices that will support your spiritual, emotional, mental and physical well-being. Watch where your thoughts go and keep a disciplined rein on your mind and obsessive thinking. Dropping more into your heart and intuition may require you to release mental control, the need to know, and to give whatever you have a concern about over to spirit.

It is probably best during this time to refrain from moving forward in a direction that requires a big, permanent change unless you have enough clarity to feel it is the right thing. Focus on good self-reflection, discovering what it is that you truly need and are willing to change.

A Full Moon in Virgo with a total Lunar Eclipse is Tuesday, March 3 at 4:37AM Mountain Standard Time (MST).

Part of the Blood Moon cycle of eclipses, this one exposes what needs to be seen. That which is hidden comes to light and a clearer path opens up that may include radical change, necessary endings, and great creativity and inspiration around all the possibilities opening up. It is time for a new story but first the old one needs to be complete and the page turned.

This moon supports intuition, the endless field of possibilities, and a deeper drop into the heart and what is authentic. It will push you out on to the path of upgrade whether you are ready or not. So, be proactive with this opportunity and decisive with your actions. What have you been procrastinating, neglecting or putting off? Take responsibility where you need to, listen to your intuitive messages and strive for balance in all areas of your life.

March 8-15

Daylight Savings Begins on March 8! Change your clocks forward by one hour the night of the 7th.

We can connect with more enthusiasm around our dreams and desires during this time. Opportunities open up and situations that may have been problematic or stagnant in the past seem to turn a corner. It will be very clear as to what is moving along on the right direction and what needs more work. It is best not to be stubborn, attached to an old program or goal, or the need to know. Allow for some new magical imaginative creative inspiration to come in and guide you in your next steps. They will include an upgrade and you may have to give something up but it will be worth it.

March 16-23

Mercury goes direct during this time, opening up the gate for more forward movement. A need for adventure and freedom may make us somewhat impulsive so make sure you have great clarity before jumping into anything and that your risks have been thought through enough to keep you on the right track. This is the time to move towards new relationships, new endeavors, studies and projects, and to refine your vision based on what surfaced during your time of self-reflection.

This time frame also includes a new moon in Pisces as well as the equinox and beginning of Aries season bringing even more fire energy into the mix. Your own personal spiritual leadership becomes an important aspect of your authenticity and having good boundaries and discernment is also a good practice as we move into a more dynamic outward energy. A lot of things can happen during this month so it is important to stay grounded and in your own lane, out of other people’s drama, projections and judgment, and into your own experience of fun, light, laughter, magic and creativity. Take care of the things you can control and don’t worry about the things you can’t.

March 24-31

As we come into the last part of the month we may be hit with some volatile and unstable energy that challenges us to stay balanced. There is a rebellious nature to the times and care must be taken not to be seduced by rebellious reactions when triggered but instead to look pragmatically at where you need more freedom. A focus on the bigger picture can be helpful and taking good care not to react rashly, either in decisions or actions, can avoid accidents and unnecessary unfortunate situations.

With that said, it is also a dynamic time to be moving forward especially towards something you have a passion for. If you are in the process of a necessary upgrade there may be lots of support available through community, spirit and your allies. Make sure you practice good discernment as you barrel your way forward with excitement, vitality and enthusiasm.
