​The theme for August is “Time For A New Story”

All of us have a story. Parts of our story we are inspired by and wish to carry on into the next chapter of our lives. And parts of our story we are tired of and so done with and wish to move on from but something keeps us engaged, attached and unable to let go. Sometimes this is a need to be right or a need to get back something we feel is still owed to us. We hold ourselves and others in debt by perpetuating the old story and anchoring it even deeper rather than doing whatever we can to release, let go, forgive and make room for a new one.

August brings 2 eclipses that will support this process in unexpected ways. You may find yourself with some doors closing, urging you to take notice and to be proactive on where to go next. When one door closes another will surely open but it requires trust to step through that door into a new landscape that could become the foundation for your new story. It is important to reflect on what is holding you back. Is it unfinished business? Are you holding yourself or someone else in debt around a past issue? Are you trapped in your own fear of the unknown making it difficult to consider anything new? Are you still attached to an old dream that has not manifested as you hoped it would?

The new story needs to come from the heart and not the head. And, it needs to begin to manifest from the present, not the past and not the future. The power is in the present as well as your own authority for your life. So practice being present where fear, anxiety, regret, shame, and obsessive thinking are all less likely to exist. Your authenticity and self-expression should be the guiding energy for your new creative intentions.

Once you make a choice and commit to making a change, you will likely be tested and the tests may come from others that have a resistance to you changing. Beware around the projections of others that do not want things to change. And, be aware of your own resistance to the change you may witness around you. Practice setting good boundaries, staying in your own lane and protecting your clarity and truth.

If not now, when? There is an aspect to this month that is pushing us to get off the ambivalence platform and be proactive around movement and progress. What have you been “meaning to do” forever? Either do it or not but make a clear decision. This includes the release of something as well as the reaching out to bring in something new.

How the month shows up:

YOU PERSONALLY

This is a month of self-reflection and truth telling. What are the parts of your old story that you are truly done with? Do you have the courage to let go and make changes? Are you willing to put up with the stagnation of the story just to be right? How is that old story working for you? Find humor in the answers and ask for support in making the changes you know you need to make. The eclipse cycle this month can bring in drama and intensity that you can either use wisely or get caught in the potentially negative aspects. There is a tremendous amount of personal growth and maturity possible this month but you will have to be disciplined and find the courage to follow your heart. It may be bittersweet as you see the truth around certain relationships that are no longer aligned and have to release an old dream. Just remember that when one door closes another will open up inviting you to step through and explore something new.

RELATIONSHIPS

Be prepared for some drama around relationships especially ones involving any kind of emotional or psychological debt. You may be examining who is truly in support of you, who you have agreements with, what relationships are over and which ones are coming through that new door. In the sorting process, good boundaries will be helpful. Think of yourself as starting a new chapter in your life. Whom do you wish to bring into the new part of your story and who seems to be going in a different direction?

Kindness and compassion should always be part of dealing with relationships. It serves no purpose and only becomes an energy leak to hold on to anger, irritation, annoyances and judgment. Allow yourself and other the space to change and reset the story.

HEALTH AND THE PHYSICAL BODY

This month can be a challenging time for the emotional, mental and physical body. You may feel overheated, irritated, despairing, disgruntled, dissatisfied, antsy, out of sorts, sad, a bit ungrounded, exhausted, sleep deprived, confused, fearful, anxious or worried. Action will often cure any experience that is a result of feeling stuck. Moving the body, taking a trip, moving something in your environment around, changing a physical pattern or habit, and cleaning/clearing something out will often allow your experience to shift. Watch blood pressure, circulation, liver heat and hydration. Since we are in the year of the fire horse, working closely with the water element and the spirit of water is helpful.

As always, we recommend taking breaks, allowing for rest, and being inspired by new creative experiences. Old stories make for stagnant situations that are never inspiring.

BUSINESS PARTNERSHIPS AND PROJECTS

If something is not working, examine it closely. What is the story? If you were going to create a new story about your business, finances or projects, what would change? Don’t resist the doors that might be closing. Sometimes this is due to another’s changing story that you have no control over. Pay attention to the doors that are opening and use the intelligence of your heart as well as your intuition to feel into them for a choice to go through or not. If the business and partnership is solid but needs a little revising such as bringing in another character or energy, be open to trying something new and different. It is the choice to act that creates the momentum needed.

This is not the month to be overly impulsive regarding investments and major financial decisions. Be practical and somewhat conservative but do what it takes to support what you are clear about. Boundaries and protection may be necessary especially if others may be in resistant to your new story.

ENVIRONMENT

The eclipse cycle may very well bring intense shake ups on the physical realm. Continued earthquakes, high winds, sever drought, flooding, fires and unexpected weather patterns are all possible. Resiliency, flexibility and acceptance are necessary to navigate these changing times we are in. Be helpful when you can as long as you do not overly compromise yourself. Take care of yourself and your own environment with maturity and responsibility. Don’t put off fixing something that needs to be fixed out of resistance. Do it now.

We also recommend working with the elements daily in acknowledgment of their power and support for life. Instead of being in resistance to the potentially destructive aspects, build a relationship with them as allies.

DATES AND TIME FRAMES

August 1-7

This is a window when more clarity, both mental and emotional, may become available helping you to sort things out that need revision. Truth about an old story can lead to more authenticity as you focus on what your heart knows. If making a choice becomes important, don’t delay, do it now. We are starting the month coming from a place of turning the soil to see what is underneath the surface and taking responsibility for it. This may have opened up a lot of variables and added to a bit of confusion and uncertainty about next steps.

Being able to look at your life as a story may be helpful in gaining some neutrality around what you know needs to be done. If you were writing the next chapter of your book of your life, what would you want to include and what would you wish to eliminate?

August 8-15

This is a good window for bringing in the elements of beauty, optimism and creativity into the rewriting of your story. Authentic self-expression becomes most important to the point where you may find yourself irritated if you don’t create the space to express aspects of the new story you are crafting. This new architecture must include elements that are inspiring to you. Do not compare yourself to others or wish that you were different. You may question your self-worth and abilities, but remember that you have an authentic self-expression that is yours and no one else’s.

What does optimism look like to you? How can you be around more beauty or bring more beauty into your day? Bring in the field of creativity so that it informs everything you think, feel and do.

August 12: New Moon in Leo with a total solar eclipse (visible in the arctic) is Wednesday, August 12 at 11:36 AM Mountain Daylight Time (MDT).
Adaptability in the face of change, emotional awareness and stability, creative thinking, and the ability to step into a new beginning with confidence and commitment are all aspects of this new moon that will be encouraging us towards the revising of an old story.

The extent that you are trapped in your attachment to the past, you may feel very out of sorts during this time. Eclipses always bring intensity and mark the beginning of a new cycle. It is up to you and your personal internal leadership to decide how this cycle will manifest for you. Only you can choose the right path and only you can decide when you are complete and where you are going next.

August 16-23

This is a window of potential tests, distractions, doubts, questioning and reality checks. Engage your creativity, nurture your support system, check in with your intuition and your truth but do not get caught in delusion, mental fog and uncertainty projected by others. This is also a good time frame to make sure you have good discernment and boundaries.

The reality check may be about a choice you are exploring. Perhaps it was not the right one. Exercise the freedom to change your mind and to rewrite that part of the new story. Nothing is set in concrete and you may need to consider what has changed that was out of your control. Be flexible, creative and authentic.

August 24-31

Expect the unexpected during this time, especially if you have been dragging your feet around a big inevitable change. And if you are on a good track, don’t allow the unexpected to derail you from it. Discipline with good protection and boundaries will be necessary to stay on course and determination will support your way forward. Trust spirit to open the right doors when you experience old ones closing. You may find that this is also the time frame when any last vestiges of a story that is beyond its time to be done, can be released for good. Allow emotions to surface, be felt, and then dissolved as you face this new chapter. If there is work to be done, you will be very conscious of it. Welcome the discipline it will take, as this will serve a new foundation for a much better story.
