​The theme for August is “Raising The Bar”

This month is all about improvement, leveling up, increasing your havingness, upgrading the quality of your life, and infusing your experiences with more joy, satisfaction and positivity. When you reach for betterment, the debris and murkiness of a low vibration situation you may have been putting up with will certainly surface for examination. This examination and reflection could lead to some hard choices that may affect relationships, work and community. August is a very dynamic month but may not be the easiest psychologically. At the same time as you have opportunity for expansion and leveling up, you also have a need to go inward to explore more deeply the patterns and situations and attitudes that have kept you from improving your lot in life.

What will be helpful is to stay neutral around triggers that stimulate the deeper investigation into what you need to upgrade. Self-criticism, judgment, shame and guilt will only get in the way of productive action. Curiosity is another ingredient in the process that will be most helpful in keeping you looking forward with optimism instead of getting trapped in the obsessive overthinking of what you could have done better in the past. And, it is important to try and make the process fun. Finding humor in the “that did not go well” scenarios will set your leveling up on a fast track as you let go of the “what was I thinking” judgment with humor instead of shame.

Try not to get caught up in the overwhelm of the task ahead and remind yourself that the intention, plan and commitment is the most important aspect. Rome was not built in a day and no one expects change to happen overnight. It is a gradual process that requires a mature look at your blind spots and an acknowledgment of what needs to change so you can increase that havingness and bring yourself to a higher level of improved quality of life.

How the month shows up:

YOU PERSONALLY

This is a good month to question and to have curiosity about yourself and what you need or could do to raise the bar in your life. It is a time of self-examination from a place of neutrality so that the choices forward are made not from a negative reaction or impulsiveness, but rather from a place of truth and inner knowing. This has been a theme for a while, but August brings it to the forefront where there is an actual possibility to achieve and begin to manifest this higher level of functioning.

A large chunk of the month is under Mercury retrograde, providing a window of time for deep inner reflection where you have an opportunity to really get down into what is true for you. You will experience the debris from recent irritations, but use it to question and bring in creative solutions instead of looking for something or someone to blame. The outcome of this month could be a greater sense of power, prosperity, havingness and all that goes with it.

RELATIONSHIPS

Relationships may take beating this month as irritation is high and habitual behavior that causes that irritation will need to be examined and changed. The best is to create some space around you and others for reflection and re-evaluation. Don’t take personally someone’s process of setting boundaries or making changes they feel are important. And if you are the one creating boundaries and moving towards change, make sure it is from the right place and in support of you instead of a push back towards another.

Authenticity, motivation, agreement and compatibility are all up for questioning. Use your curiosity to move things along if you feel stuck. Create change and bring some newness and adventure into important relationships that feel a bit stale. Even some small, inspired, creative experience can level things up.

HEALTH AND THE PHYSICAL BODY

What can you do to raise the quality of your health? This is the important question and the answer will be different for everyone. Asking the question and then following through is the key. We have been harping on self-care and its importance for a while now, however this month is not only about self-care and taking the time for it but also about raising your awareness, changing your attitude, increasing your trust, and leveling up your intentions for a higher quality of life. So we could say that it is the bar on your expectations and intentions around your health and well-being that needs to be raised.

It is a good month to push yourself physically as physical accomplishments are always a concrete metaphor of an energetic upgrade. Start small and take baby steps. Don’t measure or compare yourself to others as you are unique. You set your own bar whether it is for diet, physical health, mental capacity, energy levels and other measures of well-being.

BUSINESS PARTNERSHIPS AND PROJECTS

If you have been putting up with lower vibrations energies at work or with business partnerships or projects, you will become very aware of where you need to upgrade your experience. It may not happen overnight, however decisions that are made during this time with a true commitment to execute a change will definitely gather the support of spirit if they are in your best interest and highest good. Look for what is coming into your life that is an upgrade and a level up from your current situation. This is an extension of last month’s theme of support. What is supporting you? And where is the support guiding you?

There is great inspiration to be had this month but you may need to think a bit outside the box. Balance your deep personal time of reflection with camaraderie and idea sharing with others. Look for new connections, new opportunities and innovation and make sure you are not simply going across to the same set of patterns but to a level up. Raise the bar on yourself and what you should be expecting from where you put your energy.

ENVIRONMENT

The words are Improvement, Upgrade, and Raising the Quality. Look around at your environment. What have you been putting up with? Since we have this theme, don’t be surprised by some very clear messages that may come in the form of things in your environment breaking or coming apart to represent what needs to be upgraded, changed or simply eliminated both in your physical environment and perhaps in your emotional and mental one as well. Pay attention to what you are upgrading as all of it has meaning. When you raise the bar on your life, the extensions of yourself that include anything physical you use, and the environment that you live and work in, will be affected. Dealing with your environment takes time and you may have to carve out time to do this. Start small, do one upgrade a time. Maybe it is fixing a crack or readjusting a drawer. Start with the little things that have been the most irritating to you as they will have the best mileage in satisfaction of accomplishment.

As to the greater environment including weather, look for more intensity in all natural expected and unexpected phenomena. As always, it is best to be flexible in plans and to see any change as an opportunity for something different instead of a disappointing turn of events.

DATES AND TIME FRAMES

August 1-7

We start the month with a combination of irritation and hope. This strange combination sets us up either for judgment, blame and despair or practical assertiveness to take raising the bar in our lives seriously. Don’t get sidetracked into the judgment and self-criticism. Be proactive instead with carving out time for reflection and a reset. Mercury goes retrograde on the 5th giving us the opportunity for a deeper dive into what we need to plan for right now in order to take advantage of the upgrades to the quality of our lives that are possible.

If you find yourself becoming cynical or negative, move your narrative to a humorous commentary. It will instantly lift the vibration and provide a clear channel for working with the new moon energy on the 4th.

August 4

New Moon in Leo is Sunday, August 4th at 5:13AM Mountain Daylight Time (MDT).

This new moon is a bit of the calm before the storm. It is light and playful, creative and quirky, and points to self-reflection, care, and truly doing something for yourself personally. It can also be social as long as your own needs are met. If you are one of those that has been recently overwhelmed with a zillion responsibilities, demands, deadlines, too many things on your plate, too many confusing emotions, too many unclear opportunities and too many irritations, the best way to use this new moon is to intend a good clearing, reset and space for yourself to process and get clarity on what is next. You may need to set a good boundary so you can sort out what is important to you regardless of what others expect. Take time also to do something physical and to take some baby steps towards a goal or intention.

August 8-16

A good window of time to get all your ducks in a row with planning around new insights and clarity. As you look around at what needs upgrading, do it with neutrality and ask for help once you see a plan forming in your mind of what and how you intend to proceed. The important attention is on making sure the mind and your mental intuition is connected to the heart and the intelligent intuition of the heart in making any strong or permanent decision. There is support during this time for change and for increasing your havingness about what you can actually manifest. Watch impulsiveness and make sure to include the questioning and the curiosity so important this month as you continue to expand your sense of what is possible.

Month 17-24

This can be an unstable time of confusion and irritation. You may feel overwhelmed again regarding the enormity of what you deem has to be completed or changed in order to level up and raise the bar. Remind yourself to take baby steps and to keep sorting and refining as the details become clearer and more manageable. The energy especially around the full moon can get a little quirky and eccentric forcing you to be grounded and certain about where you stand and what your priorities are. Don’t take things personally as others will be going through their own process and it may or may not align well with your own. Remember to work with mind and heart as a team and put your own truth at the help of the ship. If you are faced with tension and crisis, use that energy as an opportunity instead of seeing it as a negative challenge.

August 19

August 25-31

We land in a different energy during this time that supports confidence, freedom of thought and emotion, good fortune, clarity of path and inspiration. It is a time that can feel like all the puzzle pieces fit well together and there is the completion of the puzzle in sight. Creativity is key, and embracing what is new and acknowledging what feels like an upgrade is important so you don’t judge it as a necessary fix of something broken.

Details will come up as a focus and anything that needs to be refined will get that opportunity. Beauty is also a focus and will influence your environment, your leveling up and your inspiration to surround yourself with a higher quality in all things, people and support.
